Orange peel, cinnamon, tobacco, licorice and dried cherries lift from the glass in Grimaldi’s 2011 Barolo. Exotic, nuanced and wonderfully expressive today, the 2011 is an excellent choice for drinking over the near term, as the flavors already show nice signs of development. The 2011 is strong for an entry-level Barolo. The 2011 was aged in both cask and smaller French oak barrels.
Anticipated maturity: 2016-2023
