Tasting Notes
Vinous 91-93
Lignier’s 2011 Morey St. Denis En la Rue de Vergy comes across as especially silky and refined in this vintage. Crushed flowers, sweet red fruit, crushed rocks are all layered together in a finely chiseled, pointed wine. High-toned floral notes add lift and energy on the finish. This is one of the most polished wines I have tasted from Virgile Lignier. Clean, saline-infused notes from the limestone-rich soils frame the fruit beautifully. The 2011 was done with 30% whole clusters.

Robert Parker 89
From Virgile’s two hectares of vines, the 2011 Morey St. Denis En La Rue de Vergy has 20% whole cluster bunches. It offers a perfumed bouquet with dark cherries, bergamot and a touch of violet. The palate is soft and rounded with well-integrated oak. There is not a rough edge in sight here with a velvety, sensual finish that has great volume. Drink now-2020.
Anticipated maturity: 2013-2020
