Tasting Notes
Vinous 89-92
(85% merlot and 15% cabernet franc; 8 h/h; aged in 100% new oak): Deep, bright ruby-red. Fruit-dominated aromas of cassis, blueberry and sexy sweet spices on the opulent nose. Then broad, smooth and lush on the palate, with initially light and lively tannins turning a little tougher on the back end, which showcases a perfumed violet quality. Dense for the year, but I couldn't help wondering if this might have been even better with a little less new oak.
