Step 2 of 3 | Your yearly review

Investor profile updated – now book your yearly review

We already hold your positions, so this call is about reviewing your current circumstances and looking at how your investor profile today compares with where your portfolio actually sits. After we’ll make our recommendations. Sometimes those recommendations are to change nothing.

  • Your current split against your target allocation
  • What’s drifted, and whether your goals have moved too
  • What to consider buying, holding or selling to bring it back in line

30 Minutes – With your adviser – Nothing for you to prepare

Why review

Nothing’s changed? It’s still worth the half hour

Your portfolio moves even when your circumstances don’t. Perhaps, one segment runs ahead, another lags, and your split quietly stops matching your profile. Your answers may say nothing has changed while the conversation shows something has, or the other way round. The call help us ensure we’re all still aligned and pointing in the right direction.

What we know already

What you currently hold

  1. Every position we hold, have bought or have sold for you. Including the performance and current market value.
  2. Your existing investor profile and target portfolio split we set with you before.
  3. Your previous goals and circumstances.

What we can’t see

What’s changed for you

  1. Whether your goals, timeline or need to access capital have moved.
  2. Anything coming up that could change how much capital you want to hold in wine – whether that’s increasing or decreasing your position.
  3. How the performance of your portfolio is aligned against your expectations.

After your review call

Where a yearly review can lead

Most reviews end in one of these places. We recommend whichever fits your circumstances, and the final decision is always yours.

If nothing has changed

We’ll say so, and leave it there

If your portfolio still fits your profile and your plans, that is the recommendation. A review that changes nothing is a good review.

If portfolio split has drifted

Portfolio diagnostic and rebalance

We start with a diagnostic of what you hold, recommend to sell what no longer fits, then provide offers to buy where you’re short to bring your portfolio back in line. We advise, you make the final decision.

If you want to invest more

Buy and add to your portfolio

We’ll send offers with the reasoning behind each wine, how they fit into your portfolio. You have final say on what to add. There’s no minimum and you can pay as you confirm offers.

If you’d like to enjoy some

Hold or deliver wine to drink

Assets that don’t fit into your investment portfolio, can continue to be held with us separately from your invest wines. Or, you can take them out of bond and into your own hands. Duty, VAT and delivery apply.

If you need capital

Sell and take money out

Sell part or all of your portfolio. How long it takes depends the prices you agree to sell at and on what you hold: rare Alpha Generation wines can take longer to find a buyer.

When you add capital or rebalance

Every wine is offered, with the reasoning

Whether you’re adding capital or reinvesting after a sale, new wine arrives as an offer prepared for your portfolio. Nothing is bought until you approve it, unless you’ve asked us to decide for you.

  • Where the offer takes your split, segment by segment, against your target
  • Why we chose each wine
  • Why it fits your portfolio in particular
  • The price, and how it compares with the market

You choose which wines to add. Take all of them, some, or none.
