Step 3 of 3 | Portfolio Diagnostic
Your call is booked – next send us your portfolio
Which of your wines are pulling you toward your portfolio type target? Which are quietly working against it? And which aren’t investment grade at all?
- Which of your wines are investment grade – and which wouldn’t qualify for any segment
- Which of our three segments each wine falls into
- An up-to-date market valuation of every holding
- A line-by-line breakdown of your entire portfolio
- A bespoke SWOT: where your holdings leave you against your indicative allocation
100% Free – No obligation to sell, buy or move your wine
How it works
Next Step – Review your current portfolio
Based on your answers, we have given you an indicative investor profile. Next we need to review your existing portfolio to see what you hold and how well positioned it is against your goals. Upload a list of your wines above and we’ll provide a complimentary portfolio diagnostic.
Step 1 – Done
Your investor profile
We have given you an indicative investor profile, a target portfolio allocation and some examples of wines that could be in your portfolio.
Step 2 – Done
Your call is booked
Your adviser will talk through your investor profile and goals with you. If you can, send your list before the call so we can make the most of it.
Step 3 (now) – You – Takes 1 minute
Upload your portfolio
Attach whatever your current merchant gives you: a spreadsheet, a PDF statement or an export. We check every wine and vintage against live market data and map it against your investor profile.
Why we need your list
You’ve only got one half of the picture
Your answers have helped to inform your investor profile and set your portfolio target. Your actual holdings needs to be assessed to see whether they’re aligned to your goals.
What we know already
What you’re aiming for
- Your goals, risk appetite, timeline – which have informed your indicative investor profile.
- The target portfolio split across our investment segments: Stable Core, Diversified Growth and Alpha Generation that your answers point to – as shown on your results page.
What we can’t see
What you actually hold
- Every wine you hold elsewhere, what it’s worth now, and which investment segment it lands in – if any. This is what we complete in our portfolio diagnostic.
- A detailed understanding of your investment goals – your answers have given us a starting point, a one-on-one conversation will help fill in the gaps.
Plenty of famous labels land in none of our three investment segments. A wine earns a place because the numbers support that vintage at that moment, not because of the name on the bottle – which is usually the most useful thing a diagnostic tells you.
What you receive
A custom report, followed by a conversation
An online report summarising your portfolio as a whole, plus the line-by-line breakdown of every wine in it – each one valued, graded and placed against the investor profile we’ve just aligned you with.
Your portfolio diagnostic tells you what you hold, whether it’s investment grade and where it sits against your investor profile. It is not a rebalance – deciding what to keep, sell or set aside to drink is discussed line by line, with you, afterwards.
Before you send
What people ask at this point
Do I have to move my wine to BiBO?
No, and we won’t pressure you to do so. Once we have gone through your portfolio diagnostic together, we may identify and decide on some changes to better align your portfolio which will require some items to be sold. When we do that we will need to have those wines in our custody.
You already have my answers, so why do you need the list?
The questions you answered describes where you want to be, not what you currently own. We can only determine whether your current portfolio is aligned with your goals and investor profile by looking at what you have now.
How does this relate to the profile I just got?
Directly. Every wine you send is placed against the target allocation on your results page, so you can see which holdings move you toward it and which pull the other way.
What if my list is a mess?
Send it anyway. Exports from other merchants rarely arrive tidy and we’re used to it. If something genuinely can’t be identified we’ll come back and ask.
Do you need to know what I paid?
It helps, and it’s worth including if your statement shows it. Without it we can still value and segment everything; we just can’t show the gain or loss on each line.
What happens after my diagnostic?
Your portfolio diagnostic and follow-up one-on-one will outline which items should be kept for investment and which should be sold to raise capital to be reinvested in items that will improve your portfolio. In some instances, where we believe there’s no investment opportunity, we may advise that certain items should be sold or taken into your personal possession to be consumed.
Does your existing portfolio align with your investor profile?
You know your investor profile and the target portfolio allocation based on your answers. Send us what you hold and we’ll show you how far from it you actually are – wine by wine.
Free, no obligation to move anything, and your report will be ready before your call.
